I can hear a noise from my oven even though my oven is not in use

Q) I can hear a noise from my oven even though my oven is not in use, why?


A) Nearly all of our cookers and ovens are fitted with a cooling fan system. This system circulates air to keep the controls and the external piece of door glass at the required temperature. Some cooling fans are temperature controlled (when the air around the oven reaches a certain temperature then the fan will start and when the temperature drops the fan will stop), timer controlled (the fan will operate for a set time after the cooking function has been turned off) or function controlled (when the oven is on, the fan will operate).
